About Rooted Collaborative Counseling

You may have arrived here with a sense that the patterns, performances, or hiding are not the most honest or natural versions of yourself.

Perhaps you feel unsure of a sense of yourself at all. Although these parts of you may have served a purpose at one point, they may feel like a burden or a barrier in the present.

Hi there, I'm Hannah

Licensed Therapist & Fellow Human (She/Her)

My simple intention is to support and guide you towards moving closer to whatever more real looks and feels like for you. I believe deeply in the wisdom that comes from listening to your body, in making room for what is uncertain, uncomfortable and unknown, and in the reclaiming and reconnection to whatever feels most vital and alive within you.

The Rooted Journey

The Seed

How Rooted Began

Rooted grew from a desire to live out a more real and honest expression of my own life. I wanted more freedom in many ways; my time, my resources, and the ability to live out my values more deeply.

My body told me loudly that productivity at all costs was not what I needed to show up for my clients or my life. I longed for more presence, passion, and peace in my days.

The Roots

WHAT THIS WORK ASKED OF ME

Honest expression called for deeper roots; to hold the storms and uncertainties of beginning my own business. I have always found deep comfort and wise guidance in the natural world.

As I navigated venturing out on my own, I was struck by the metaphor of a tree’s ability to grow into itself only through a strong root system. The parallel was hard to ignore; what I was asking my clients to do bravely I had to be willing to do myself. Living out this mission requires the same skills, courage and risk taking I ask of you. Rooted is the outward expression of a clearly defined and cared for root and value system.

The Blossoming

WHAT BECOMES POSSIBLE

Rooted was a sort of act of rebellion to reclaim some of my own resources to nurture and discover the blocked, lost, and unknown expressions within myself, knowing that the more resourced and present I am in my own life, the more fully I can show up for the incredible people I work with.

Some of the spaces I continue to explore and tend to (always a work in progress!):

  • Expression through dance

  • Time in nature through hiking, scrambling, and skiing.

  • Writing

  • A slow rekindling of my background in art and art therapy

  • Sensuality through baking and herbalism

  • Seeking and tending to more connection and community with others

These openings have deepened my own connection to presence and grounding in the mysterious unknown.

I find it deeply thrilling to trust that if these fires stay kindled, I will forever discover and grow more edges.
This is what I hope for you, too.

What Might Happen in Our Work Together

We ultimately have no idea what will unfold when we turn towards ourselves more intimately, but here is what can become possible when we do:

  • You clarify what truly matters to you, and begin taking risks in that direction

  • You learn to tolerate uncertainty and develop a growing trust in yourself and the unknown

  • You develop a growing capacity to be present in your body and work with your own nervous system

  • You feel the full range of emotions and what it means to be human, and feel more confident in your ability to regulate in the midst of it.

  • You meet parts of yourself that have been waiting to be known

  • You grow in genuine respect and compassion toward yourself

  • You begin stepping back from people pleasing, rigidity, and other patterns rooted in survival

  • You loosen the grip of over-control and discover the freedom and flexibility that lives on the other side

  • You find the quiet art of surrender, and learn to let go of the past and future in favor of what is present

  • You deepen your capacity for genuine connection with others

  • You develop a more stable, natural, and honest sense of yourself

"Maybe you are searching among the branches, for what only appears in the roots"
