Individual Therapy
in Colorado + Massachusetts
Individual therapy can be a powerful avenue for turning toward your inner space with respectful, honest guidance that moves fluidly between practical skill building and deep inner exploration. I feel passionately about supporting you in your process of waking back up from the grip of old patterns and returning to a life lived more awake.
How it Works
Our Sessions
In our work together, I provide a safe container for you to clarify what matters most and how you genuinely want to be living your life, or perhaps how you no longer want to keep living it. I help you confirm that your value system is truly your own, and not one inherited from external spaces that was never really yours to begin with.
Often it is our pain that points us most clearly toward what we truly value. Those painful places within you become our compass. We follow those with safety toward your unknown and unfolding path. Along the way you build the capacity to turn toward discomfort, uncertainty and pain rather than away from it, loosen the grip of avoidance and rigidity, and cultivate enough inner safety to be present with what is scary and challenging. Your expertise on your own experience is deeply trusted and respected. We honor the container size you arrive with, and work together to grow it so that you can hold more life.
Throughout all of it, your nervous system is our guide. We will check in with what it is telling us, and move at a pace that honors where you are at. We do not push for more than what can be genuinely integrated. We aim for sustainable growth, and learn to trust together whatever that needs to look like.
Individual Therapy
Frameworks and Approaches
-
Clarify what matters most to you, learn to accept what is outside your control, and move toward your values in ways that feel honest and real.
-
Creative expression can be a beautiful portal inward. Engage with creative processes and experiential approaches to explore and deepen what words alone cannot always capture.
-
Learn to turn toward wounds and pain with kindness and curiosity rather than judgment. Mindful self-compassion is not weakness, but rather one of the most effective orientations towards making space to work with inner challenges.
-
Recognize that you are the ultimate authority on your own experience. To experience genuine respect and trust from another can be the foundation for gaining confidence in your own inner compass.
-
We are not one thing. Parts work helps us understand and navigate our internal landscape that carries different parts of ourselves. These different parts carry old wounds, old beliefs, and old ways of protecting us that may no longer serve. Learn to have a relationship with these parts in order to explore a path forward.
-
Mindfulness is the practice of noticing our present moment experiences with a posture of curiosity and non-judgment. Mindfulness based approaches do not stop our thinking or bring us to places without pain, but rather help us find more ground and spaciousness in the midst of it all.
-
Many of our deepest wounds were shaped in relationships, and relationships can also be where they begin to shift. New ways of relating to another can open new ways of relating to yourself.
The therapeutic relationship can be a relationship where you explore and tend to these wounds.
-
Explore territory beyond the everyday self through dreamwork, guided visualization, and breathwork. This is an approach that acknowledges the whole of who you are, including the parts that exist beyond the ego.
-
Our lived experience is shaped by culture, identity, power, and systems larger than ourselves. Explore your own experience within a collective context and with a more full awareness of the world you are operating in.
-
Connect with your body and discover where limiting patterns are held. Learn to ground and stay present in the midst of pain and discomfort in order to break patterns of avoidance and overwhelm. Work with the nervous system to cultivate confidence in the capacity to regulate.
-
All work at Rooted is held within a trauma-informed framework. Learn what trauma really means, where you have experienced it, and notice how it has shaped your nervous system, the stories you tell about yourself, and the patterns you carry. Openings for change can begin with more clarity and understanding towards what has happened to you.
Who I Work Well With
Histories that Bring People Here
I work well with those drawn toward depth and realness, and who are willing and motivated to turn toward the fear, discomfort, and uncertainty that honest inner work requires. I often find myself working with creatives, helpers, highly sensitive humans, those who experience emotional intensity, perfectionists, people pleasers, and high achievers who sense their own patterns, especially those rooted in shame, are limiting them in some way.
Many of my clients carry histories of complex or relational trauma, attachment-based wounding, or acute traumatic experiences. Some expressions of that have looked like challenging dynamics with caregivers, experiences with bullying, struggles with identity, and sexual assault, among many others.
The weight of these histories can manifest in many ways, and clients I work with often express an unstable or unclear sense of self, a relentless inner critic, behaviors rooted in over-control, codependent patterns, insecure attachment styles, obsessive compulsive patterns, fawning/people pleasing, depression, anxiety/panic, disconnection from their body, difficulties connecting with others, or a pervasive sense of dissociation from life itself.
Frequently Asked Questions
for Individual Therapy
-
Getting started is simple. I always like to have a free, 15 minute consult with potential new clients to explore fit. This gives you a chance to get a feel for what working together could be like, and gives me a chance to sense if I can provide support for what you are seeking. If we decide to work together, I will send you a portal invitation from Alma (the platform I use to take care of billing and scheduling). Intake documents will be sent, and insurance will be verified before session (if you choose to use insurance). Scheduling can be coordinated via email.
-
I do not provide in-person sessions at the moment. However, I am open to connecting with clients who live in the Fort Collins area for outdoor sessions (weather permitting). I currently use Zoom to conduct sessions.
-
Out-of-pocket & Superbill: Out-of-pocket costs are $150/50-55 minute session. If you have out-of-network benefits I am happy to provide a superbill once a month to provide to your insurance.
Insurance: Otherwise, see below for the insurance that I work with in CO and MA. I make sure and verify your insurance before beginning work together to confirm I am able to work with your policy, as well as provide a good faith estimate provided by your insurance company

I prefer to begin work with a new client on a weekly basis to build rapport, but am also open to a biweekly cadence if you sense that is best. I am sensitive to budgets, and we can explore a cadence that feels best for you. We will begin our work with an open space for you to let me know anything you sense you want me to know about your past or present. I do not ask for your full history as we do not need that to begin our work. However, I do trust you to share what you want or need me to know. We will then clarify what you want to focus on in our work together. We will periodically check in with how you are feeling about the space, and time between sessions can increase or decrease accordingly.
-
Although I bring tools, experience, and perspective, I do not consider myself the expert in this space. I am not here to tell you what to do. I deeply respect the expertise you hold on your own values, lived experience, and the felt sense of what life is like for you.
I will bring honest feedback, genuine support, and a collaborative presence. Together we will shape the direction. My approach tends to feel warm, non-judgmental, curious, honest, and grounded. I enjoy using humor when the moment calls for it.
-
I see clients from 9 AM-6 PM Mountain time M-Fr. Some clients choose a consistent cadence, and due to schedules, some clients meet at different times each week. Before scheduling a consult, I will screen for potential availability in our schedules. I have had wonderful consults only to find our availability does not math.
-
If you cancel or no-show a session with less than 24 hours notice, you will be charged a $120 late cancel fee. If we are able to reschedule within the same week, the fee will be waived. I work to be as flexible with this as possible, and find virtual sessions allow for more of this. In the event of a true medical emergency, requiring urgent professional treatment, a sudden death in the family, or a natural disaster, fees will of course be waived. Therapists in private practice are fee for service, and frequent cancellations or requests to reschedule will warrant a conversation around fit for therapy in the present.
“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.”
- Carl Rogers
